The retailer in Allentown is alive and well – according to Trend Up, which is on the move!

Organic growth is the best growth when it comes to small business. For years, I have been a follower of Giovanni Centurone’s retail business, which began before the construction of the brick and mortar stand at 85 Allen Street in the incubator space at Arcade Market. In fact, he joined her Siobhan Taylor, owner of Ms Eye Candy – both shared a remarkable store.

Every time you hear a “huge announcement” when a pandemic is announced by an entrepreneur, you tremble. At least I do. But when Giovanni wrote that he had a “huge announcement,” it was great news – he was growing again. This time, he’s moving in front of a store a few doors down, at 95 Allen Street, for a while Siobhan continues the Ms Eye Candy clothing store from 85 Allen Street, while also expanding its product range. Thus, their clever plan to share a space – saving money and labor – is now a wise decision that will ultimately benefit Allentown retailers.

By moving on to her research, Giovanni can increase her fashion lines while allowing her to do more: pop-ups (such as yoga, jewelry and homemade purses), podcasts, SIP and stalls, fashion shows, photo shoots, book signings, open / cypher microphones, DJs and designers meet and greet.

“It allows me to wear a lot of different types, including vinyl and old magazines with vintage clothing and new sneakers,” Giovanni said.

I asked Giovanni what the rest of Allen Street was like and he was very excited about the future of his block. “A team has changed everything. Barkery (the pet store) moved to Allen Street, so as to bring more traffic and dogs. Fast and Tasty moved and Sammy moved in – they are Indian, American and Spanish cuisine. Freshly soaked and got Shirt Off Back My space – they sell second hand clothes and other items. The French Girls Spa opened well, then yes, a lot is going on in this block. I’ve heard they’ll start the next phase of Allen Street this spring – hopefully the whole project will be completed soon. ”

After three years of splitting the space on the street, Giovanni is ready to take Allentown into the storm and the scheduled opening date is March 1st.
