Big discovery: 315 Parkway boat canal

The Sonville Distribution Center has applied to build a second large warehouse in the Lakeside commercial park. The approximately 330,000-square-foot building will be located south of a 312,590-square-foot building located in the 2008 commercial park. Sonwil is a 55-acre beach on the edge of Ship Canal Parkway on the east side of Ship Union Canal.

Details of the project application:

329,405 square feet. the facility will be constructed next to an existing facility. The new building will consist of thirty docks, 12 freight cars, an office for support staff and two halls for transport staff with a bathroom. The exterior façade is constructed from a structural structural system, with precast concrete and metal panels for cladding.

Sonwil Distribution Center is a third-party warehousing service provider that operates more than two million square feet of warehouse space nationwide with facilities in Buffalo, Depev, West Seneca and Chektovaga. The company also operates warehouses in Dunkirk, Elmira, New Jersey, Reno, Atlanta and Arlington, Texas.

Krog’s group will oversee construction, which aims to begin this spring and be completed early next year. The planning council will consider the project at its Monday meeting.
